Living in the burgh

PittsburghRight now I’m sitting at my desk that faces my huge ceiling to floor arched window.  It looks out across a beautiful hold building that is now converted into a Dollar bank, it says on it that it was built in 1870, 140 years ago, to me that’s incredible.  Right past the Dollar bank there’s just the perfect clearing of tall buildings as if it was done on purpose just to give me the prettiest view.  It’s the perfect sight of the river, the train chugging by throughout the day, the lit up word “Station” from the illuminated sign at night that reads “Station Square”, the incline that goes up and down restlessly on Mt. Washington, and a flashing cell phone/radio tower. Needless to say I love it.  I almost feel spoiled to have such a beautiful view and decently big room as a dorm!  Since I was put in overflow housing I live in the Fidelity building, there are four of us including me that live in this apartment, but yes, we do each get our own room.  The best part of this is that I got a double room, so it’s 2X bigger than the other rooms.  Anyway my view is so beautiful during the day and then once night falls it’s even prettier, it’s like a whole new view.  The incline is lined with lights and it looks so pretty up on the mountain.

I do as you can probably tell love it here in Pittsburgh; it’s definitely a good change from home.  It’s funny because I’ve settled in here so much that when I do go home and I’m talking about Pittsburgh I actually call it home now.  Hopefully the longer I stay here the more comfortable I’ll be with getting around in the city and love it here that much more.
